What a whopper this summer has been! It has brought some miserable weather, some misfortune, and some very much needed change to the program here. The cooler days seem to finally be here and we are enjoying our mornings and nights again! All the horses are certainly enjoying this change of season, more than us, I'm sure.
The summer had started out great, I was on top of the Western Saddle Club series with Dundee Cee (Larry) until his navicular syndrome made it hard for him to do what he loved. Unfortunately, that meant I couldn't catch up to the requirements for the series and am now DQ'd until January, when the series starts again. So I got a new horse with hopes of him being a good mount for this part of my life, he certainly was, but the heat and some health issues had us at a stand still. He is now back in training and we will be at the WSC event on the 25th of this month, dressed up in costume!
We were very lucky to make another big purchase of two yearling halter horses this summer, bred and raised at Pritz Show Horses in Tuscon. We have been showing these two (which you should check out on the show team page.) and doing very well. With them, we attended the Blue Ribbon Horse Shows and the APHA shows for the first time. I'm not saying that we will completely change our program to paint horses, but color will definetly be a part of our program from now on.
It has been a very busy summer, and I'm sure the winter show season will not allow us a break, but we are in a good place now, and we are very happy with the lovely horses in our family now. Look for us all over AZ!
Happy Trails,
Jolese George
